Good morning, Tiger Fans,

Yesterday was a great day to be a Tiger, leaving us with wins in baseball, basketball, and softball to recap. But since it’s been a while, we’ll begin today’s post with a BOOM on the recruiting front.

BOOM! Coach Brian Kelly and his staff kicked off their big recruiting weekend by picking up a commitment from in-state linebacker Kolaj Cobbins of Destrehan. Rated as a 4-star by the recruiting services and the No. 6 player on our list of Top Louisiana Prospects, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker chose LSU over Texas, Michigan, Oregon, Colorado, Ole Miss, Georgia, Alabama, Florida State and a host of others. With his pledge, LSU’s 2024 recruiting class now contains nine commitments and is ranked No. 2 according to 247Sports and No. 11 by On3.com.

In women’s basketball, LSU emerged victorious over Georgia with a score of 83-66, securing their spot in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament. Unlike a month ago when the two teams met in the regular season and played into overtime, the Tigers dominated this contest from start to finish. LSU shot lights out and finished with 11 three-pointers made, which tied for the most by an LSU team in SEC Tournament history. Angel Reese had a relatively quiet game, scoring 15 points and grabbing only six rebounds, but Alexis Morris stepped up and scored an impressive team-best 28 points. Flau’Jae Johnson, the SEC Freshman of the Year, also had a big day with 21 points. Next up, LSU will face No. 3 seed Tennessee tonight at 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU. Tennessee advanced in the tournament with a win over No. 14-seed Kentucky.
